Keywords: risk society, knowledge society, economic growth

Abstract

The paper presents Bell’s typology of social development (an agrarian society, an industrial society and a post-industrial society), focusing on the post-industrial society and contemporary conceptions of its interpretation. Moreover, fundamental issues concerning a contemporary have been described. Furthermore, significance of a mass-society, a late-modernity society and a risk society has been discussed. Finally, main trends of the contemporary society development were shown with three most important sceneries of its development and their consequences.
