CHANGES IN DISTRIBUTION OF INSURANCE SERVICES IN POLAND

Keywords: insurance market, consumer, insurances, distribution channels, marketing

Abstract

The paper presents classic, traditional delivery channels and new alternative forms of sale. Analysis of delivery channels participation in contribution assigned to sections I (life insurances) and II (personal and assets insurances) in Poland in years 2002–2008 shows that insurance companies are abandoning traditional delivery channels for bancassurance and direct channels. These are cheaper and more effective forms of reaching customers and they enable a company to keep full control over a channel.
