TRANSFORMATION OF AGRARIAN STRUCTURE OF EU COUNTRIES WITHIN THE PERIOD OF 2010-2013

Abstract

The aim of the paper is to determine the size and directions of changes and degree of differentiation of agrarian structure of EU countries within the period of 2010-2013. The research is based on Eurostat data presenting number of farms in groups of agricultural land area in particular countries. The areal groups are as follows: up to 5 ha of agricultural land, 5-20 ha, 20-50 ha, 50 ha and more. With the application of chosen methods of statistical analysis of structures direction and rate of changes of the structure under investigation were compared. Basing on fuzzy classification four groups of countries of similar structure were distinguished and the types of the structure under investigation were determined for EU countries in 2010 and 2013.
